Our FAQs

We LOVE answering questions about orthodontics in Homewood, AL. Here are some of our most frequently asked.

  • How long will I be in treatment?
Treatment time depends on different factors such as your age, amount of crowding, or spacing you have, the position of your bite, and how compliant you are during your treatment. Dr. Maggie will be able to provide more details after your complimentary consultation.
  • Am I too old for treatment?
Never! It is never too late to begin treatment to get the smile you have always wanted.
  • Does everyone need two sets of braces?
No way! Dr. Maggie wore only braces one time as a teenager. However, there are specific problems that do warrant “phased” treatment. The first phase of treatment focuses on correcting one particular issue. Once that is addressed, we monitor your child’s growth and development and let them have a resting phase. The second phase of treatment will focus on correcting the bite or other related issues.
  • Am I a candidate for Invisalign®?
Yes! Most people, even kids and teenagers, are candidates for this modern aligner treatment.
  • Can I see anyone for Invisalign®?
Invisalign® needs to be performed by someone who specializes in moving teeth to achieve quality results. Dr. Maggie has so much experience performing Invisalign® and even uses “orthodontic tricks” to carry out challenging movements to enhance your results.
  • Do I have to wear a retainer?
Yes! Just like how your eyesight changes over time, the position of your teeth will change over time too. The retainer (usually worn at night) will maintain the position of your teeth and protect the investment you have made into your smile.
