Dr. Maggie loves being an orthodontist. You’ll notice how excited she gets about teeth and her specialty as soon as you meet her! She is enthusiastic and upbeat, and her positivity will rub off on you and your family. Dr. Maggie has been a private practice orthodontist in Birmingham since 2015. At the age of fifteen, she had braces because she had an impacted tooth, and it truly changed her life! Dr. Maggie knew she wanted to share that excitement and confidence that came with having a smile she was proud of with as many people as she could.

After graduating from the University of Georgia, she moved to Birmingham to attend dental school at UAB. Upon dental school graduation, she received the school’s highest honor, the Dean’s Medal, which is only given to one outstanding senior, selected for their leadership and scholastic ability. Next, she completed her three-year orthodontics residency at UAB and immediately began practicing in town.

Today, Dr. Maggie is beyond thrilled to have her own space to practice orthodontics and take wonderful care of her patients. She wants everyone that comes through the door to have a little more joy!

Dr. Maggie is passionate about technology, hospitality & lifelong learning. She loves greeting her patients by name, excellent communication, college football, hot coffee & spreading joy! As a busy mama herself, she wants things to be efficient & convenient at her office. Dr. Maggie loves living near her practice and cannot wait to serve the communities of Homewood, Mountain Brook, Vestavia, Birmingham and beyond!

She is married to Dr. Hikel Boohaker, and they have three young children, Alfred, Sadie, and Peter. Dr. Maggie looks forward to welcoming you and your family to our home sweet office of Law Orthodontics!
